The Formula One prediction category was supposed to keep us going until November but we're already blown out on this one.
We only suggested that there would be five or six winners of races this season so with Lewis Hamilton taking the total to seven this weekend it's no points all round. There could be more to come too.
We'll have to have a think about this category if we do this again next year.

Euro 2012 Predictions
I asked for the winners and runners-up in January and here's what we suggested.
Ian - Winners - Germany, runners-up - Spain
PG - Winners - England(!), runners-up - Germany
Scott - Winners - Germany, runners-up - Spain
Simon - Winners - Spain, runners-up - Germany
I honestly thought Capello was getting it together. I wish I could have that pick again!
It's two points if you're exactly right, one point if your team gets to the final but doesn't do as you predicted. Not a lot of variety between these selections.

2012 Predictions Comp - The story so far
Just four entries into the 2012 prediction competition so at least it's easy for me to keep track!
The first event for us was the Six Nations. Ian and PG took a point each for predicting a Welsh victory while Simon's faith in England was misplaced. Scott went for France and was rewarded for this indecency with no points.
The next set of points were given for various English football season predictions. The Premier League Top four proved more difficult than we thought with everyone expecting Chelsea to be involved in the shake-up. Scott also thought Liverpool would sneak in which, if I could change the rules, would be worth deducting points!
Simon, Scott and myself all had the top two in the correct order for four points. Simon and I also had Spurs (but in third) to earn a further point. Ian had the Manchester clubs in the wrong order for a point each but predicting Spurs in fourth gave him another two.
At the bottom end of the table no one foresaw Wigan's escape. Blackburn and Bolton were popular choices and Simon was the only one who had Wolves in the drop-zone. Two points all round.
There were also points available for picking the promoted teams from the Championship. None of us selected the eventual champions, Reading, so all missed out on the bonus point. Ian, Scott and Simon pocketed a further two points for selecting West Ham and Southampton while I only got the Hammers right. Middlesbrough were a popular selection while the less said about me and Ian favouring Leeds the better!
No one picked up any points for Swindon's finishing position either. Various levels of pessimism only saw us pick the Town in 2nd-4th place.

About the 'Ten'
The date of the first Highworth 10 is lost in the mists of time.
The likeliest candidate was between Christmas and New Year 1989 while some feel it may have been a year earlier. Whatever the date a decision was made to head for Highworth and attempt to drink a pint in each of the pubs in an evening.
This simple and drunken idea has stood the test of time and while some of the pubs have gone, some of the people have gone and the drinking ability of most has definitely gone the event stands as the highlight of the year.
This blog/website will talk about the pubs and some of the stuff that has happened during the 20+ years of the 'Ten'. It will also feature the 'Not So Great Prediction Competition'. Your comments, memories and contributions will elevate this from the dull and worthy to the excellent archive that it could be.
